YOGA & PILATES

Yoga and pilates classes will be done in small groups, 4 to 8 people, and will take place in the new open-air space at Osteozenia Clinic.

Classes will be suitable for all ages and they will be scheduled for mornings and afternoons. Whether you´re a beginner or an expert, can move freely or suffer from pain or injuries, our teachers will help you to accommodate the different exercises and postures to your body's own capabilities, needs and limitations.

We have also created a class which is a fusion of these two modalities, yoga and pilates, which we consider the best combination to give your body mobility, flexibility and strength, and to give your mind that much-needed relaxation, thus improving your quality of life and well-being. These fusion classes also offer you the opportunity to take care of your mental health by releasing accumulated stress.

YOGA

Yoga was developed as a spiritual practice thousands of years ago. Its purpose is to connect the body, mind and spirit, while learning to enjoy the present moment. Physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation are all used in yoga to improve health and well-being.

The main goals of yoga are to:

  • Purify and oxygenate the body through deep breathing mechanics (pranayama).
  • Gain flexibility, strength and balance by performing different postures (asanas).
  • Experience an inward journey to self-knowledge (dharana), anchor ourselves in the present moment and balance our masculine and feminine energies (ida/pingala).
  • Reach meditation (dhyana), and be conscious and connected to our true essence, with a happy heart and a peaceful mind.

PILATES

Pilates is based on a series of physical exercises that, when combined with conscious breathing, will help to oxygenate your circulatory system and stabilize your thorax, diaphragm and pelvis.

Slow but active movements are performed working on the deep musculature and main stabilizers of the body. This practice is ideal for toning, elongating and strengthening your muscles and joints, obtaining a good stability of your "core" or deep abdominal muscles, thus improving your posture and biomechanics.

This practice is perfect for dancers, athletes and postoperative patients, is very helpful in assisting recovery from a number of dysfunctions, and is ideal for improving your physical and mental fitness.
